Last Sunday our end of the street and another bit of a nearby street had a 'big lunch'. it was a bit like the sort of street party they normally have for royal events like weddings and coronations but instead it was just because Tim Smidt of Eden project fame thought it was a good idea and organised it.
It was great and I'm really hoping we do it again next year. Although I'm hoping that I work out how to stop loosing at connect4 and giant jenga (see pictures)!
I don't think that many other streets in Reading did it, but I would definably recommend it to anyone. It's a really nice way to meet a few new people and get to know other neighbours better.
