Charity ride to Newbury

it in
Went for a great bike ride yesterday superbly organised and raising money for an excellent cause - the Reading Women's centre.

Cycled with my friend Anneliese Dodds who is the parliamentary candidate for Reading East. I persuaded her to take a Saturday off the campaign trail - although she was back on the doorstep today! (as was I helping out John Innes talking to some of hisconstituents down the hill from me in Southcott). Anneliese is a great candidate and also fellow cyclist!

I have taken that route a few times before but it was lovely to do it in such perfect weather and with a friendly offer of cake, squash and even a certificate at the end - see the photo!

Thanks to the wonderful Helen Biggerstaff for arranging such a great start to the bank holiday!
